Invigorate Faith | Build Community | Go Make Disciples

Stewardship Through Serving

Following the example Christ set for us, we strive to offer ourselves by giving, praying, and serving others. Every day, we have the choice to pour ourselves out or to sit back; to get involved or be self-involved. This year, is God calling you to do more? There are dozens of opportunities throughout the year to donate, develop our prayer habits, serve others, educate our children, reach out to the needy, and much more. Your participation is welcome and needed for our community to thrive. Let’s work together to build a welcoming community as we serve God and one another!

Getting Involved at St. Anne Catholic Church

There are many wonderful ministries here at St. Anne.  Please prayerfully consider how you can use your time and talents to get involved in this amazing community!

LITURGICAL MINISTRIES

ALTAR SERVERS

These boys and girls, fourth grade and older, assist with the celebration of Mass. Participants must have received First Communion. This ministry tries to accommodate family Mass preference.

DEACON JOHN MAHON | DEACONJOHN@STANNEBA.ORG

CHOIR

This ministry enhances the liturgy by providing music on Sundays and special celebrations. All are welcome to join and no prior experience is required. The St. Anne Choir has always been an important part of our weekly liturgy. It is well supported and provides a strong family-like atmosphere to produce music for God’s glory. New members typically enjoy this friendly atmosphere and often stay many years. Practices are Thursdays at 730p in St. Francis Hall.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

These dedicated parishioners assist the celebrant in distributing Holy Communion during Mass. These ministers must be committed to weekly Mass attendance, the celebration of the sacrament of reconciliation, and strive to be a model of Christian living at all times.

DEACON TOM MOYES | DEACONTOM@STANNEBA.ORG

GREETERS

Greeters create a pleasant and welcoming environment for visitors by opening the doors, warmly greeting each visitor, and providing direction when necessary. The Greeters, along with the Ushers, help create a culture of hospitality before, during, and after Mass. The Greeters are asked to arrive at least thirty minutes before Mass begins.

MENA EVANS | MENA001@COX.NET

LECTORS

Those who commit to this ministry have the special privilege of proclaiming the Word of the Lord during the Mass. Lectors must feel comfortable in front of the congregation. Lectors should arrive at Mass 10-15 minutes early. Ministers should be committed to weekly Mass attendance, the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and strive to be a model of Christian living at all times.

If you enjoy reading, this group is for you! Each month the Bell Tower Book Club comes together on campus to discuss the book-of-the-month. They read quality Catholic books, as well as works with religious (especially Catholic) themes. This book club covers a wide range of literature, both classic and modern alike. At each meeting a book is chosen from a list of nominations to be read for the following month. The selection is usually available free through FORMED or the local library. All adult members of our parish and local community are welcome to read the book and join them.

The members of this ministry work to periodically prepare “blessing bags,” or groups of items that are meant to edify, uplift, and unite our community, then they deliver these items right to the doors of each parish household. Each delivery can be accompanied by a knock on the door and a real, in-person interaction, or it can be merely left on the doorstep and accompanied by a prayer for the people who live there. This is a unique opportunity to leave your comfort zone, meet new people, and grow in community with each other in a real and concrete way.
