What is OCIA?
OCIA stands for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (formerly knowns as RCIA). It is the process through which adults explore Catholic teaching, deepen their relationship with Christ, and prepare for entry or full communion into the Catholic Church.
Who is OCIA for?
- Unbaptized Adults: Individuals who wish to explore God’s call, learn about the Catholic Faith, and receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion.
- Baptized Non-Catholics: Christians baptized in another faith tradition who feel called to learn about Catholicism and enter into full communion with the Church.
- Baptized Catholics Seeking Sacraments: Catholics who were baptized but have not yet received the Sacraments of First Holy Communion or Confirmation.
- Fully Initiated Catholics: Parishioners who want to deepen their adult understanding of the Faith or serve as a sponsor and companion to others on their journey.
