What should I wear?
When we come to Mass, we are entering God’s house to stand face to face with the King of Kings. This is a profound moment of worship, and our attire should reflect the reverence, dignity, and respect that His presence deserves. Please dress appropriately for the celebration of the Eucharist. We encourage you to wear your "Sunday best," choosing clothing that is respectful and avoids being a distraction to those around you. By dressing with dignity, we keep our focus on Our Blessed Lord and help maintain a prayerful environment for our entire parish family.
How do I get to St. Anne Catholic Church?
We are located at 301 South 9th Street, Broken Arrow, OK 74012. From the BA Expressway, exit Lynn Lane and head south. You will see the church in one mile on the left-hand side! Here is a map.
Where should I park?
There is parking just north of the church and also around the back on the east side of our campus. Handicap parking can be found on the west side of the church as well as the east!
Where do my children go?
Children are not only welcome but encouraged to attend Mass with their families. The Mass is for them, too! This is where they learn to appreciate the beauty of our faith and follow your example in prayer. We love having children participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and invite you to bring them along as they learn to be part of the life of our parish. For families with little ones, childcare is available during Sunday morning Masses. The Childcare Center is located in Capuchin Hall; please ring the bell for assistance. Whether they are in the pews or in childcare, we are so happy to have your family with us.
I’m not Catholic, how do I know when to sit, stand and kneel?
There’s no need to be self-conscious about the postures and responses used during worship. Most visitors just follow the lead of our parishioners. However, we do have worship aids located in each pew that provide you with the order of the mass, the postures, and the words of each prayer. If you don't see a worship aid in your pew, ask an usher, and they will be happy to bring you one.
I’m not Catholic, is it okay for me to participate in communion?
For Catholics, Communion is more commonly referred to as the Eucharist (which means "giving thanks") and is considered the source and summit of the Christian life! We take great care to honor and guard the Sacrament because we believe that it is much more than a symbolic gesture. In fact, we believe that on the altar during the consecration that bread and wine become the flesh and blood of Jesus (See John 6:53). For this reason, the Church seeks to ensure that all who come forward to receive communion have proven themselves ready. The process of becoming Catholic is first and foremost the preparing of a person to receive Christ in the Eucharist. Therefore the Church asks all those who are participating in the Mass that are not practicing Catholics (currently in a state of grace) to refrain from receiving holy communion. If you would like to know more about completing your first Sacraments (Reconciliation, Communion, and/or Confirmation) or becoming Catholic through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), click here!
Am I expected to put money into the offering?
Supporting our church financially is by no means required to be a part of our community! However, tithing is a practice that is encouraged by the Catholic Church and is based on biblical teaching. Yes, parishes do have to pay utility bills and retain a talented staff so we need the support, but the greater reason we encourage each family to prayerfully consider tithing is that God blesses those who trust in Him and the important work Jesus does in the lives of so many through our parish!
I have a hearing problem, is there any special assistance?
We have an audio system installed in the church that transmits to special handheld receivers for individual use. They can be found in the Narthex around the corner from the men's restroom!
