Mission Statement : Based on the kinship we have with others as members of a common humanity and children of God, the St. Anne Ministry of Compassion, strives to relieve the suffering of those in need . We offer person to person service with compassion and confidentiality, sharing the love of Jesus enkindled by the Spirit.
The Ministry of Compassion serves individuals and families experiencing a difficult period, regardless of race, creed, age or family status. We have helped parishioners and non parishioners. We have assisted families that struggle at the poverty line and families that need assistance due to unforeseen circumstances, such as jobs lost, reduced work hours, or sickness. We give non perishable groceries and provide limited financial assistance for utilities, rent, prescriptions or other needs on a case by case basis. We also provide referrals to other service agencies for additional support and for situations out of our scope. We serve the Broken Arrow and Coweta area.
The Ministry of Compassion is completely funded by the generosity of St. Anne parishioners, with the assistance of the Knights of Columbus. The Women’s Club and parishioners help stock our Food Pantry. We provide some clothing and miscellaneous items to families on a case by case basis.
The Food Pantry is open the last two Tuesday’s of the month, 10 a.m. – noon and the first Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
All parishioners are invited and encouraged to be a part of this ministry. Donations of time and treasure are always welcome! Our meetings are usually the first and third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in St. Francis Hall. One meeting in July on July 22, 2010.
If you or someone you know, are in need of assistance or you want more information, call our Ministry of Compassion phone number, 258-5276 and leave a message. We will return the call as soon as possible.
Please keep our ministry and those we serve in your prayers!
